"Excellent"

date: September 13, 2006

I enjoyed this track. Excellent use of filters / verb. It really moved and kept me captivated the whole time.

Really liked it.

Author's Response:

Thanks man. I was listening through it a bunch, thinking of what to add cause it sounded empty, and then all of a sudden it bounced into my head:

"OH snap I forgot to add some cool ass sounding filters. DUR!" So I did :)

Glad you enjoyed it, man!

"Friggin bomb ace dude"

date: July 10, 2006

This song is bomb. The progression is really nice. If you did this in FL studio, then I am very impressed. Otherwise, it still kicks ace.

Author's Response:

100% FL Studio.

believe it or not, but this one I made with FL Studio 4. Nowadays I'm using FL Studio 6, WAY better, the program seriously does make the difference

This song rules, I am definately in awe.

How'd you do this, the instrumentation sounds very well recorded. The mix is perfect and love melody and muted trumpet.

Author's Response:

I own a studio-level microphone, and a homemade sound studio in my home. The oboe (not a muted trumpet) and piano were recorded in said studio. The strings were synthesized. I compiled the whole thing in Adobe Audition.

Someone tell me how this made A-bots weekly favorites. I'm not saying this tune is terrible. It's just that I've heard much better that I feel deserve to be given this privelage.

Author's Response:

I'm just as surprised as you are :)

Hmm a couple things I'd like to say. A lot of your melodies don't seem to be in the same key. Some don't really fit together that well.

Another thing is, for drums 'n bass the bass line isn't that very bassy at all. Nor are your drums very drummy.

All in all, it's not that I didn't like this track, I just see many ways that it could be improved.

Keep at it and I'm sure you can do better =)

Author's Response:

its hard to make drums sound lik paragonx3's, if sum 1 could give me tips that would be awesome, the synth is lik the bass, and the key is fine untill i added that low bass in the middle, i rly liked it though

Pretty cool tune, but it kinda soudns like you just threw a bunch of random loops together.

Sometimes they work, most of the time not so much though.

Author's Response:

thanks it was kinda that

Putting some riffs on top of a already made Fruity Loops tune isn't cool dude.

Make your own stuff or just don't bother.

FYI, for those of you who didn't know, the majority of this piece is not by the original author. A couple minor riffs were added, but it is still very identifiable as a demo song from the Fruity Loops demo.

Author's Response:

Keep cool bro, I am Reegz, I did infact make this piece. I had made this with FLStudios 3, and the team asked me if they could use it as a demo in FLStudios 4, and I said ya sure... So jus' chill

I love your usage of panning. Most users here are just dead center kind of guys. Love the drum beat, it fits this tune very well.

Keep at it dude, sounds great, but there's always room for improvement =)

Author's Response:

Thanks for noticing the panning :-p Not many pepople notice that sort of thing. Agreed, improvement is always possible. I'm fairly surprised in this piece, because I don't know how to play any instruments. I usually just use my keyboard as a piano and mess around with riffs until they sound just right. It is also the first 6/6 time frame I've used. Slow, drawn out. It was really fun to make. I'm still working to make the middle riff flow better.

"Hmm"

date: December 2, 2005

I see you are having issues with digital distortion.
It sounds like you are using Fruity Loops and if you would like me to tell you how to fix that just e-mail me.

Otherwise it sounds like you put a lot of time and effort into this piece. A pretty good rendition of the Seph theme. Judging by the names of your other pieces I take it you like FF7.

Great track, keep it up =)

Author's Response:

I don't really think I'm having problems with distortion. What I used was tremolo -- which was what I wanted to use. But thanks for the review and your offer.
